I am working on putting together a new illustration portfolio of some of my most recent work. I am searching for a new and unique style that I can do on my Cintiq using photoshop. I have an old book full of old B&W illustrations of what people wore through the centuries. This sketch is the first of many I did to do my own take on certain people and their clothing. I call this one Dandy.

A NEW Beginning!
Well, I finally did it… again!
I have left my full time job as a graphic designer to go out on my own again to be an illustrator, artist, entrepreneur, horse trader, and philanthropist.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit scared. But my excitement is quickly dousing that fire. I am not even sure what direction I will take at this point with my work. I love doing it all as long as it gets my creative juices going. That is sometimes my problem. One day I might love to be doing funny character sketches and the next day a very tight oil painting of Jesus and His disciples. I am truly all over the place when it comes to art.
However, I have learned to embrace it and just take it as it comes. My hopes with my new venture is to get myself back into good physical, mental, financial, and spiritual shape so that I may be able to support my family and to help others along the way.
Please follow my blog so you can see all my new work. If you would like to commission me I am just and email or a phone call away…

Chris Johnson Illustration
I want to get into doing sports related portraits and this was my first attempt in that field. I have been doing this same style for a while now so that part is not new. This is a portrait collage of running back Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans. I chose to do him because he is awesome on the field and flamboyant off the field. Plus, he has cool hair and I wanted to try and paint that.
I started to do this in oil but chose to go with airbrush arylic and colored pencils instead because it has an edgier modern look to it.
I am hoping to offer prints of it in the future.
Final art was created on gessoed masonite 30x36

Dracula experiment
I have always loved the classic monster movies. Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolfman, etc. So, why not try and paint them right??? I was experimenting in my studio the other day and came up with this painting. I say experiment because it is done in a style that I have never done or seen anyone do. maybe for good reason :-)
This painting combines drawing, acrylic airbrushing, colored pencil, and then followed by oil painting on top of all of that. Let's just say it was a process!!! Long story short, it was fun to do and I was kinda pleased with how it cam out considering I was not sure even what I was doing. Sometimes that is the funnest kind of painting to do.

Wedding Carriage
Sorry it has been so long since I have posted anything but life just seems to keep getting in the way. I will try and do better in the future!
Here is one of my latest oil paintings I did for a friend. I was commissioned by her to do a painting of her daughters wedding horse drawn carriage. The final painting measures only 12x12 inches and I wanted it to have a kinda loose impressionistic feel to it but still keep it tight enough to have a sense of realism to it as well.

Ron Paul Drew Strewzan Style!
This is another attempt at doing Ron Paul from the same sketch I used on the other one. I like the results of this one much more and I enjoyed the process of doing this one as well. I think it is a much better likeness and I love the loose sketchy feeling. I borrowed the technique to do this one from famous poster illustrator Drew Strewzan. Drew may be the most famous illustrator working today and he is known worldwide for his more than 300 movie posters he has illustrated such as Star wars, Harry Potter, Raiders of the Lost Ark, etc. I am and have always been a huge fan of his work. Thanks Drew for all of the inspiration!!!
